Today around 3pm, my friend came up to the Hd MP Branch to put some stuff for Hd Mp to sign. I unlock the his office room door with the keys. and we went in. After that I went straight to the toilet, and when i return i couldn't find the key.
I check around the office and couldn't find it, and after awhile i didn't bother looking for it thinking that maybe my friend hide and keep it. Thinking that he would return when it's about time to go home.
Time was 5.10pm, i got worried and decided to check the whole office again, but no matter how i check, i couldn't find it. I decided to call my friend to ask whether he or the other friend saw it, but they didn't. By this time, i got more worried, because it is about time to go back soon and i would have to lock the room and return the keys.
To make the matter worse, another officer came back from meeting and wanted the keys, i told him to wait and i get it, and i call my friend straight to say that tell my madam that i misplace the keys and to get her backup one incase.
It was over 5.35pm, time to go home, but i still couldn't find the keys. In the end, my 3 other friends came up and look around the whole office to look for a single bunch of keys. We couldn't find it no matter anywhere we looked, and the keys couldn't have gone any other places other than the office, HD MP room, and myself.
I was so worried, worried about what will happen if i can't find the keys, what punishment will i get? Will i have to do extra duties on weekends and weekdays? and how many will i have to do?
I checked my shirt and pants pocket but couldn't find it no matter how many times i double checked. We continue looking even though we know it can't be in the office or anywhere since we searched and flipped everything and every area.
It was 6.05pm now, I totally give up.. and one of my friend suggest that i take out every single thing in my pocket and if it's still not there, i will just have to report it to the Ops Room and prepare to take any punishment.
First, i took out everything from my shirt pocket, including my camp pass. (wallet, coins, handphone, IPOD Touch) I double checked that nothing is left in my shirt pockets and continue towards the pants. (cap, home keys) I double checked my pants again after taking everything out, but this time i found the keys!!
Where is it? It was in my pants pocket all along (where jeans type of pocket is), but i didn't notice it or feel it. It was probably because i don't use that pocket for army pants, i normally use the side pocket where it is bigger and deeper for my cap and keys.
I was relieve, relieve from the thought of having to do extra duties, having to do duties and couldn't meet baby on weekends. I also felt bad for causing so much trouble for my friends, and i also felt my stupidlity, carelessness and my forgetfulness.
